• To be converted, conversion-meaning: change of direction, a turning point, about face.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Rev. 3:20
• Is our decision to open the door the same as conversion? Is conversion something or a decision we must make ourselves?
“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalms 19:7
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19
“For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted and I should heal them.” Acts 28:27
“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which convereth the sinner from the error of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” James 5:19, 20
“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors the way; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” Psalms 51:12, 13
